We hope to be able to keep up with a daily post or every couple of days, we all get busy! Let's start with the basics, a simple car wash.

I've put together a simple guide of how to properly setup and wash your vehicle exterior. Here it is for you to wash your car like a detailer!

Your car is more than just a mode of transportation; it's a reflection of your personality and style. One of the easiest ways to keep your vehicle looking its best is through regular car washing. In this guide, we'll walk you through the basics of car washing, helping you achieve a spotless shine that will turn heads on the road.

  1. Gather Your Supplies:

Before you embark on your car washing journey, gather all the necessary supplies. Here's a checklist to get you started:

  • Car wash soap

  • Two buckets (one for soapy water and one for rinse water)

  • Microfiber wash mitt or sponge

  • Soft-bristle brush for wheels

  • Hose with a nozzle or a pressure washer

  • Microfiber towels or chamois for drying

  • Wheel cleaner

  • Tire cleaner

  • Glass cleaner

  • Applicators for wax or polish (optional)

Choose the Right Location:

Selecting the right location is crucial for an effective and efficient car wash. Opt for a shaded area to prevent water spots, and ensure you have access to a water source. If possible, avoid washing your car under direct sunlight, as it can cause soap and water to dry quickly, leaving streaks.

Start with the Wheels:

Begin your car washing adventure by tackling the dirtiest part – the wheels. Use a dedicated wheel cleaner and a soft brush to remove brake dust and grime. Rinse thoroughly and move on to the next step.

Pre-Rinse:

Before applying soap, give your car a good pre-rinse to remove loose dirt and debris. This step helps prevent scratching the paint during the washing process.

Soap it Up:

Fill one bucket with soapy water and use a quality car wash soap. Dip your wash mitt or sponge into the soapy water and start washing your car from the top down. Be sure to rinse your mitt or sponge regularly in the clean water bucket to avoid transferring dirt back to the car.

Rinse and Dry:

Once you've washed your car thoroughly, use a hose or pressure washer to rinse off the soap. After rinsing, use microfiber towels or a chamois to dry your car completely. Drying promptly helps prevent water spots.

Detailing:

For an extra level of shine, consider applying a coat of wax or polish. This step not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also provides a protective layer for your car's paint.

  1. Finishing Touches:

Don't forget to clean the windows and mirrors using a quality glass cleaner. Pay attention to the details, like door jambs and crevices, to ensure your car looks its absolute best.

Conclusion:

Regular car washing is a simple yet effective way to maintain your vehicle's appearance and protect its resale value. By following these basic steps, you can transform your car from dull to dazzling, ensuring it stays in top-notch condition for years to come. So, grab your supplies and give your ride the attention it deserves – a clean car is a happy car!
